Atlanta Fed promotes Brent Meyer to vice president and senior economist

Brent Meyer has been promoted to vice president and senior economist in the Research Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, effective December 16. In his new position, Meyer will continue to provide strategic leadership for the Economic Survey Research Center. He will also expand his leadership role on the Sixth District’s monetary policy advising team and help set the strategic direction for the Research Division as part of its leadership group.

Meyer started his career with the Federal Reserve in 2006 as a research associate at the Cleveland Fed. Since then, he has held several roles including economic analyst, senior economic analyst, and economist. He joined the Atlanta Fed as an economist in 2013 and has served in various policy adviser positions before this latest promotion in 2021.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hillsdale College in Michigan and a master’s degree in economics from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
