The Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce and the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce announced on April 23 that they will host a joint Candidate Forum for local elections. The event is scheduled for April 28 and 29 at the Jack B. Patrick Information Technology Center Auditorium at Augusta Technical College.

The forum aims to provide voters with direct access to candidates running for Augusta Commission and Mayor, allowing community members to hear their perspectives on issues affecting the city. Organizers say the event is intended as an informed, nonpartisan space to encourage civic engagement and voter awareness.

According to details released by both chambers, the schedule includes District 4 at 6:00 PM and District 2 at 7:00 PM on April 28. On April 29, District 8 will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by District 10 at 5:00 PM, with the mayoral forum starting at 6:00 PM. All qualified candidates have been invited to participate in their respective forums.

Community members are encouraged to submit questions ahead of time using an online form provided by organizers. The chambers hope this input will help guide discussion during each session.

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce describes itself as the largest business membership organization in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), focused on economic growth and supporting local businesses through educational initiatives. The Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce was founded in March of 2017 and works with minority-owned, women-owned, black-owned, and disadvantaged businesses across the region through advocacy efforts such as workshops and networking opportunities.
