Augusta University announced on March 9 that its annual Augusta Gives fundraising event will take place on March 18, lasting for 18 hours and 28 minutes in recognition of the university’s founding year.
The event aims to bring together the Augusta University community to support students, patients, and researchers. Organizers say the day is dedicated to advancing education, health care, and research at the institution.
“Augusta Gives is more than a day of generosity. It’s a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together when we unite around a shared belief in the life-changing, life-saving work happening at Augusta University,” said Jeff Snow, executive vice president of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement. Snow also said, “Every gift, no matter the size, fuels scholarships, advances research, strengthens patient care and opens doors of opportunity. Augusta Gives is a celebration of giving, of impact and of the extraordinary spirit that defines Augusta University.”
Kelly Schulte, director of Annual Giving and organizer of Augusta Gives for seven years, said: “Behind every scholarship is a student who dared to dream. Behind every breakthrough is a life waiting to be changed. And behind each of those moments is a donor who chose to give. Augusta Gives is an opportunity for our supporters to open doors, change lives and make a lasting impact.”
During last year’s event in 2025, more than 860 donors contributed $658,387. Of this amount, over $285,000 came from alumni and nearly $238,000 from friends of the university. Students participated through campus events such as lawn parties and power hours that generated additional funding for specific needs.
Organizers encourage participants to visit augustagives.com to select causes or programs they wish to support and consider taking part in the “You + 2 Challenge,” which involves making a donation and inviting two others to do the same.
The university describes Augusta Gives as not just a fundraising day but also as an expression of school pride and community involvement.
