Augusta University reported that its employees contributed more than $387,000 to the annual IGIVE fundraising campaign this year. Participation among faculty and staff rose to 48%, an increase from last year’s 41%, with a total of 1,961 donors.

Seventy-six departments achieved full participation, each earning a pizza party as recognition. Kelly Schulte, director of Annual Giving at Augusta University, highlighted the significance of these results. “These 100% departments are important because they demonstrate a united commitment to our mission,” Schulte said. “When every member of a department participates – regardless of the amount – it sends a powerful message that the people closest to the work believe in it. That unity is something donors, leadership and peers notice.”

Schulte also noted that the Georgia Cancer Center received the most gifts from employees during this year’s campaign. She explained, “I think this emphasizes that employees can give to where their passion lives and that they are deeply connected to causes that directly impact research breakthroughs and the well-being of our community. Cancer touches nearly every family, so employees naturally rally around an area with such personal meaning.”

The previous year’s campaign was disrupted by Hurricane Helene, leading organizers to be uncertain about this year’s outcome. However, Schulte said employee generosity exceeded expectations: “But our faculty and staff stepped up with remarkable heart. Their generosity and strong participation not only inspired us, but also lifted us 5% above our goal of 43%.”

Jeff Snow participated in his first IGIVE campaign as executive vice president for Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement after joining Augusta University in late August. He commented on his experience: “Through IGIVE, we’ve come together to build a brighter future for our students and community. I’m deeply grateful to be part of this extraordinary institution and to serve alongside colleagues whose generosity and passion inspire me every day,” Snow said. “Every gift — no matter the size — drives the life-changing, life-saving education, groundbreaking research and compassionate care that define who we are at Augusta University.”
