Library workers at the Baltimore County Public Library, represented by IAM Local 4538, have succeeded in regaining their part-time jobs. According to the union, this outcome highlights the significance of a union contract for worker protection and representation.

The workers attributed their success to collective action. “By organizing, speaking up, and backing each other, they turned their contract into real power. This victory is a reminder to working people everywhere: when workers stand together, they can defend their livelihoods, protect their futures, and win the dignity and respect they deserve,” stated the union.

IAM Local 4538 emphasized that having a union contract provides more than written terms; it offers employees a means to advocate for themselves and safeguard their positions.
