Coca‑Cola has played a visible role in various moments of American history. In 1985, the company developed a can specifically for use in space, allowing astronauts on the Space Shuttle Challenger to drink Coke in zero gravity. This made Coca‑Cola the first soft drink consumed in space.

The company has also maintained a long-standing presence at the Olympic Games, sponsoring every event since 1928. Coca‑Cola was the first major corporate sponsor of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and is credited with initiating Olympic pin trading.

Additionally, since 2005, Coca‑Cola has marked each U.S. presidential inauguration by releasing limited-edition bottles.

Looking ahead, Coca‑Cola is preparing to participate in the 250th anniversary of the United States as a signature partner of America250. The company plans to support activities through July 4, 2026, aimed at encouraging Americans to reflect on national heritage and unity.
