The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced an organizational realignment aimed at improving its capacity to support the current administration’s energy policy objectives. The move is intended to enhance DOE’s ability to expand domestic energy production, promote advancements in science and technology, and maintain the safety and readiness of the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright stated, “Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, the Energy Department is aligning its operations to restore commonsense to energy policy, lower costs for American families and businesses, and ensure the responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.” He added that these changes are designed to help the department fulfill its mission of providing affordable, reliable, and secure American energy.

The realignment comes as part of broader efforts by the administration to prioritize American energy independence and innovation.
