The Georgia Center of Innovation has played a role in supporting the growth of Ecologix Environmental Systems, an Alpharetta-based company specializing in wastewater treatment equipment for industries such as oil and gas, food processing, manufacturing, and automotive. The Center, which focuses on energy sustainability and helping businesses manage waste products in a circular manner, provided guidance to Ecologix during key stages of its development.

Consultants from the Center of Innovation assisted Ecologix as it expanded into leasing frac water treatment systems to oil companies. This move was informed by the Center’s understanding of increasing demand for treated water within the oil industry. As a result, Ecologix developed Integrated Treatment Systems capable of treating 2,000 gallons per minute on-site.

Ecologix’s collaboration with the Center has continued as the company diversified its business. The company has supplied wastewater treatment systems for facilities such as Kia Motors’ paint line in West Point, Georgia, and manufactured equipment to help the Army Corps of Engineers remove algae from water at power plants in Florida.

According to the Georgia Center of Innovation, “As Ecologix’s business continued to grow and diversify, the synergy between the Ecologix mission and the Center of Innovation helped the company continue to reduce drag, confront challenges, and propel their business forward. Today, Ecologix continues to find success in a variety of areas, from supplying the wastewater treatment system for the paint line at the Kia Motors manufacturing plant in West Point, Georgia, to manufacturing a system to aid the Army Corps of Engineers in removing algae from water at power plants in Florida. As the business continues to advance, Georgia’s Center of Innovation is able to come along beside them as a steady and trusted resource for valuable insights and consultation.”

The Center describes itself as “one of the state’s most unique economic development programs,” offering resources that help businesses connect with partners for research collaboration and marketplace growth.

“By learning about your business, we can connect you in the right places to overcome obstacles and reach the next level of growth,” said representatives from Georgia Centers of Innovation.
