The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has announced that its Georgia Mortgage Assistance (GMA) program will stop accepting new applications on March 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. The program, funded through the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF), has helped nearly 12,000 residents avoid losing their homes and prevented more than 1,600 foreclosures across the state.

Applicants must submit complete application packages through the Georgia Mortgage Assistance portal by the deadline. Customer Service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for general questions about the program.

Those needing help with their applications should contact Customer Service before March 13, 2026, to schedule an appointment for support by phone or in person at the Atlanta office of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

Applications received after March 31, 2026, will not be considered. Applicants are advised to keep copies of their submitted materials and proof of delivery or receipt.

“Georgia Mortgage Assistance is a federal program with limited funds program. Not all eligible homeowners may receive assistance before funds are exhausted, and submission of an application does not guarantee approval or availability of funds. For more information, visit GeorgiaMortgageAssistance.ga.gov,” according to the announcement.

For additional information or support, applicants can email [email protected], call 770-806-2100 or toll-free at 1-877-519-4443, or mail correspondence to Georgia Mortgage Assistance c/o Georgia Dept. of Community Affairs at 60 Executive Park South, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329-2231.
