The state of Georgia has entered into a partnership with InnovateUS to offer training for state employees on the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence (AI). The online program will be available at no cost to public sector workers.

According to the announcement, the initiative aims to develop practical skills among employees while supporting Georgia’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public trust in emerging technologies used across state government.

Georgia’s current guidance on generative AI highlights the importance of transparency in building trust and promoting accountability. The guidelines require that all AI-generated content be clearly labeled and checked for accuracy, hallucinations, and bias. The new partnership with InnovateUS is intended to help employees apply these principles through hands-on training that aligns with Georgia’s policy framework.

State employees will have access to the “Responsible AI for public professionals” course series. This includes courses on using generative AI in government, understanding risks, and building resilience. The training is designed to demonstrate practical applications for public professionals while addressing potential risks and strategies for mitigation. Employees can find these courses on both the InnovateUS platform and the GTA AI learning hub.

GTA continues its role in providing technology leadership and services to Georgia state agencies by promoting secure, efficient, and innovative technology use within government operations. More information is available on the Georgia AI website.
