IAM Local 318’s Joseph Rumrey, a union leader representing rail workers in Boston at Keolis, recently attended a leadership training session at the IAM Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The program brought together about 14 union representatives from various parts of the United States. The primary focus was on building practical skills necessary for union leaders to protect their members. Key areas of instruction included claims writing and preparing for legal investigations.

In addition to individual skill development, the broader goals of the rail division were highlighted during the training. These include efforts to secure funding for commuter rail systems and to support the expansion of high-speed rail infrastructure across the country.
