The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Retirees & Membership Services Department recently organized a week-long training session at the William Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Maryland. The event aimed to support members in forming retiree clubs within their districts and local unions.

The initiative is part of a broader plan to increase the involvement of retirees, offer more resources to retired members, and encourage mentorship for younger union members. The department encourages anyone interested in starting an IAM retiree club to visit https://www.goiam.org/departments/general-secretary-treasurer/membership-services/ for more information.

By building retiree clubs, the IAM seeks to strengthen connections among its members across generations and enhance the role of retirees within the union.
