IAM opens applications for 2026 scholarship competition for members and their children

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will open its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition on October 1, 2025. Applications will be accepted online until Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The competition is available to IAM members who have maintained two years of continuous service and their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada.

Details about the application process, rules, and eligibility can be found on the IAM Scholarship Competition page. Official calls for the competition are also available for download in English and French.

In the previous year’s competition, more than 300 applicants participated, with the IAM awarding 16 scholarships valued at $4,000 each to members and their children. The program also includes a vocational-technical two-year scholarship option for eligible participants.

The IAM Scholarship Fund was created by delegates at the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention and is used solely to provide these awards.
