The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Women’s & Young Workers Department has opened registration for two upcoming leadership programs aimed at supporting women within the union. The Women’s Leadership Program will take place from March 1 to March 6, 2026, and the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is scheduled for March 15 to March 20, 2026. Both events will be held at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

According to the IAM, the Women’s Leadership Program is intended to encourage union members to become more active in their local chapters and districts. The program focuses on building leadership skills as well as developing abilities in organizing, parliamentary procedure, political engagement, legislative involvement, strategic planning, and network building.

For those who have already completed the initial program, the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program offers further development of these skills. Participants are expected to expand on previous learning with a continued emphasis on leadership growth and solidarity within the organization.

“Women’s Leadership Programs equip IAM sisters with the tools and confidence needed to lead effectively at every level of the union and to strengthen solidarity across our membership,” states an official release from IAM.

Details about tuition costs, transportation arrangements, and curriculum can be found in the official call letter provided by IAM. Registration for both programs must be submitted using the Departmental Program Registration Form.

The deadline for registering for the Women’s Leadership Program is January 21, 2026. For those interested in attending the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program, registration closes on February 11, 2026.

Members seeking more information or needing assistance are encouraged to contact the IAM Women’s & Young Workers Department at 301-967-4747.

IAM encourages eligible members to participate in these educational opportunities as part of ongoing efforts to foster a stronger and more inclusive organization.
