The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Retirees and Membership Assistance Department announced on Apr. 7 that it is accepting registrations for its upcoming Retirees Assistance Program, which will take place from June 14 to June 19, 2026, at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The program aims to provide IAM retirees with information and skills needed to address the challenges they may face during retirement. The event offers a variety of educational sessions designed specifically for retirees.

Participants will have access to sessions on elder abuse awareness, mental health issues, self-care strategies, senior addiction concerns, healthcare navigation tips, and opportunities for volunteering. Other topics include how to find and use community resources, understanding dementia, financial planning with asset protection in mind, evaluating senior housing options, preparing effectively for doctor visits, sensitivity training sessions, and guidance on advance directives.

Details regarding tuition costs, transportation arrangements and curriculum specifics are included in the official call letter released by IAM leadership.

By offering this program every year or as needed based on demand from members or their families seeking support during retirement transitions or related challenges IAM continues its commitment to supporting members beyond their active careers.
