The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is inviting locals and districts to honor fallen members by purchasing personalized bricks for the IAM Workers Memorial at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The deadline to order these bricks is March 1, 2026.
The memorial was completed in 2001 and serves as a tribute to workers who have died on the job or from work-related causes. It is surrounded by bricks that bear the names of deceased members, as well as contributions from lodges and IAM members.
Bricks are available in several options: a $100 brick allows three lines of text with up to 20 characters per line; a $125 brick includes three lines of up to 15 characters each and features the IAM logo; an 8×8 brick costs $200 and offers six lines of text without a logo or five lines with either the IAM logo or another preferred logo. Supporters can also purchase a commemorative tile for $10.
For locals with members who lost their lives due to work-related incidents, complimentary bricks are available upon submission of an order form.
Each year, IAM holds a ceremony at the memorial to remember those lost and reaffirm its commitment to workplace safety. The date for this year’s event will be announced soon.
