The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Union announced on Mar. 26 that it will host the 2026 Kourpias K-9 Classic motorcycle ride to support Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines. The event is scheduled for July 10-12, 2026, and will take riders through several landmarks across Washington state, including Puget Sound, mountain passes, river valleys, orchards, vineyards, and North Cascades National Park.

The event aims to raise funds for Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC), an organization that provides assistance dogs to visually impaired individuals, veterans, and families affected by autism. The IAM Union Western Territory is organizing the ride as part of its ongoing commitment to charitable causes.

Robert “Bobby” Martinez, General Vice President of the IAM Union Western Territory said: “The IAM Western Territory is proud to host this year’s traditional Kourpias K9 Classic motorcycle ride to support our union’s favorite charity, GDA | TLC. This ride is so important to so many of our IAM members who are proud to contribute to a cause that brings us together in service.”

Participants can contribute at various donation levels ranging from $100 for ‘Puppy Treats’ up to $1,000 for ‘Raise the Woof.’ Corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available with tiers such as ‘Su-PAW-Star’ at $5,000 and ‘Nose to Tail’ at $75,000—the latter covering the average cost of a service dog and providing premium recognition during the event.

IAM locals and members are encouraged by organizers to participate by assembling teams for the ride or supporting through donations or sponsorships. Employers are also invited to get involved in supporting GDA | TLC’s mission.

Organizers hope this year’s event will continue making a difference for those who benefit from guide dogs provided by GDA | TLC.
