As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, Brian Bryant, International President of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), shared a message with union members emphasizing the contributions of working people to the holiday.

Bryant recognized those who make holidays possible through their labor. “From the farmworkers who harvest our food, to the workers who process, transport, and stock it… from the men and women who keep our buses, rail, and air travel moving, to those who will be on the job today and can’t take time off – this holiday is built on their hard work and sacrifice. We owe them our gratitude, and we owe it to them to keep fighting for a voice, dignity, and respect on the job.”

He highlighted the daily efforts of IAM members across various roles. “Every day, across our great union, IAM members are proving what solidarity looks like. Whether you’re on the shop floor, on an assembly line, supporting a sibling on a picket line, or standing strong at the bargaining table, your determination is what keeps this union strong and moving forward,” Bryant said.

Bryant also expressed appreciation for union members’ dedication. “On behalf of the IAM Executive Council, thank you for everything you do. Your commitment to one another, to your families, and to the labor movement is what gives our union its strength. It’s what makes the IAM a force for fairness and a source of hope for working people everywhere.”

He concluded his message by wishing all members a safe Thanksgiving: “Wishing you and your families a safe and meaningful Thanksgiving.”
