Locals and districts of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Midwest Territory will sponsor a “Salute to the Military” event at the Quad City Storm hockey game on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The game will take place at Vibrant Arena in Moline, Illinois.
The IAM Union Hockey Night will include activities such as Chuck-a-Puck, a live player jersey auction, and tributes to veterans. All proceeds from the event will support Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC), a charity supported by the IAM Union.
Prior to the game, on Monday, November 3, supporters can participate in a Paint the Ice event. This gives people an opportunity to have a veteran’s name painted on the ice as a way to honor their service.
Sponsorship for the event is organized through various IAM locals and districts. Checks for sponsorship should be made payable to GDA with “Hockey Game” noted in the memo line and sent to IAM District 6 at 2000 Walker Street, Ste. J, Des Moines, IA 50317.
The sponsors include IAM Union Veteran Services, District 6, Locals 1728, 1010, 388, and 1191 as Goalie Sponsors; Locals 254, 821, 1526, 1293, 1045, 1238, and 31 are listed as Wingman Sponsors.
